METROFOOD.BE is the Belgian node of METROFOOD-RI, the research infrastructure that brings together high-level metrology services in food and nutrition for the enhancement of food quality and safety.

METROFOOD.BE’s mission is to provide a comprehensive and sustainable infrastructure for food quality and safety including analysis, development of innovative solutions, data management and training services.

Providing proficiency testing schemes and developing reference materials.

Characterize the physicochemical properties of (inorganic) nanoparticles within the food domain.

Platform to support the safe and sustainable development, risk assessment and compliance evaluation of food contact materials.

METROFOOD-RI “Infrastructure for promoting Metrology in Food and Nutrition” is a new EU Research Infrastructure of global interest included in ESFRI Roadmap (Domain “Health and Food”) in 2018.

Its general objective is to enhance scientific cooperation and encourage interaction between the various stakeholders, as well as the creation of a common and shared base of data, information and knowledge.

The METROFOOD-RI Consortium involves 48 Institutes from 18 European Countries.
